New Eastwood models for July 2006:
Club Bass: Like the Hofner
P-90 Special: '58 dbl. cutaway
Classic 6 and 12: "Gretschy"
Mandocaster: 8 string elec. solidbody mandolin
THEY'RE HERE!!!
This is the finest Hofner copy anyone could ask for. From the staple pickups to the controls, the weight, the tone. It's perfect. And this beauty is about a fourth of the price of a Hofner reissue.
Like it's late 50's inspiration, the P-90 Special is set-neck, super light weight, and totally rips.
The Classic 6 and Classic 12 are very Gretsch-esque. Both have wide, flat necks, which makes for low, fast action. But the neck on the 12 string is particularly wide allowing for a wider string spacing that so many of you 12 string players have looked for. The bodies are pretty light, making for warmer tones, but braced heavily enough to prevent feedback.
Very Cool!
This mandolin is so cool. Or as Alex would say, "it's an awesome little buddy". It's a solid body, 2 pickup rock n' roll mando. It's standard scale with 8 strings and plays and sounds great.
